growing food together
The Locavore Growing Project is a community food growing initiative based in Folkestone, Kent and run by Custom Food Lab. We are committed to urgent action to achieve resilient local food systems working from the ground up. We work with community growing spaces, creative intergenerational engagement in food growing and by trying to connect existing projects together to work towards a collective future.
You can find us in the Locavore Community Garden which is based at Martello Primary School on Warren Way. Our regular volunteer sessions are as follows:
Monday 2-6pm (families welcome)
Tuesday 3.30-5.30pm (will sometimes be a ‘how-to’ session)
Wednesday 2-4 (families welcome)
Thursday 3.30-5.30pm (Quiet session)
About once a month, we have a ‘community day’ when we invite you to help us tackle a specific task. More information about upcoming community days can be found here.
On 30th October, a year after we began work on the garden, we will be celebrating Samhain – please join us!
Beginning on 8th November – a new ‘term’ of our ever popular forest-school inspired sessions for under 5s, WILDLINGS
