Seed Saving Workshop

What an amazing day we had at our Seed Saving workshop. Huge thanks to Seed Sovereignty UK (Gaia Foundation) who sent us Helene and Patrick to talk to us about the history and politics of seed, to show us how to collect, thresh, winnow and store seed and most importantly to talk about how we can work collectively to propagate and share seed as a community here in Folkestone. They were generous, engaging and inspiring teachers. Custom Food Lab directors Cherry and Kate came away buzzing with excitement and so thrilled to have shared the experience with other members of the Feeding Folkestone Network including @incredibleediblecheriton and @sandgatecommunitygarden . We loved sharing this moment of ‘seeding’ ideas with you and we always love sharing food around our brilliant @cosmic_constructions tables! Thanks also to @martello_primary for lending us their school hall because it was sunny 🌞 but FREEZING 🥶 outside.
