12 August @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
For the first time since COVID, we are so thrilled to be able to invite you to a proper COMMUNITY FEAST! On 12th August from 2.30-5pm, the Locavore Garden will be open for food, workshops and community conversations. We will be joined by the amazing Another Provision, who will be installing their beautiful public art work for us to gather around as we eat and discuss the future of local food. The feast will be prepared by chefs and artists, together with children who are part of our TAKING ROOT holiday club, using garden produce and surplus food rescued from local businesses. We’ll be joined by members of the Feeding Folkestone network, including Incredible Edibles Cheriton, Plastic Free Folkestone, Sandgate Community Garden, Folkestone Community Fridge and the new Diaspora Garden. More information will follow soon, but please put the date in the diary!
Donations are welcome, but only your presence is required!
We are particularly excited to announce that this event has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England, as part of a programme of work that we have been building towards for some time. We have a little mountain of admin and planning to climb before we are able to release the full information about Seeding the Commons, but we can’t wait to tell you all about it at the Community Feast!
